Grant Union High School
Varsity Baseball Program

A 13-week journey built on Respect, Effort, and Attitude.
From the inside-out.

Respect. Effort. Attitude.

Over 13 weeks, that became the standard for the Grant Union Varsity Baseball team. Not just in competition, but in how they showed up for each other every day.

We started simple. Breaking the ice, learning names, building trust. Then we set the baseline with our first combine. From there, the focus shifted. This wasn’t just about becoming better baseball players. It was about building habits that carry into everything.

How you do one thing is how you do most things.

Preparation. Communication. Response under pressure.

That became the real training.

What started as a program turned into a shared standard. And over time, you could feel the shift. More accountability. More connection. More awareness.

What this looked like in action on and off the field:

• Baseline combine testing and measurable performance tracking
• Structured leadership and coach-ability development sessions
• Accountability checkpoints and reflection conversations
• Nutrition and recovery conversations
• On-field application and team culture development
• Outdoor team-building experiences to reinforce standards under pressure

This work was supported by a team that poured into these athletes:

• Coach Ryan Battle: Footwork, Speed & Agility
• Dr. Ahmed Altashi: Injury Prevention
• Lorena Romo: Clinical Director, Psychology & Mental Fitness
• Coach Ashley Battle: Flexibility & Mobility
• Jeremiah Williams: Sports-Specific Nutrition

Each bringing a different lens. All aligned on the same standard.
